Visitor Center

Leaving Tinajo in a southerly direction, along the road that takes us from Mancha Blanca to the municipality of Yaiza, still outside the boundaries of the Timanfaya National Park, we find the Mancha Blanca Visitor and Interpretation Centre.

It is a modern building that has received several awards for its integration into a sea of lava.
Just past its entrance door we find a large room that houses a permanent exhibition that explains to visitors the volcanic phenomenon of the Canary Islands and Timanfaya, as well as its flora, fauna and coastline.

We also find an adjoining audiovisual room, which through photo montage and videos explains the history of the National Park in sessions of approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

All this is completed with library rooms, a photo library, a video library and a newspaper library, as well as a small souvenir sales room so that we can take home a memento of the visit.

The main hall connects with viewing points and walkways to enjoy a unique and spectacular landscape.
This is information prior to visiting the Timanfaya National Park, so that we can understand in situ the peculiarities of recent volcanism in Lanzarote.

The centre has a large car and bus parking lot with capacity for 57 cars and 5 buses.
