This manual deals specifically with the practice of cycling in the Canary Islands' nature.
Although it is popularly known as mountain biking, in this context it has been decided to call it cycling in nature, since it is carried out in all environments ranging from the coast to the summit.
The “Manual of good practices for cycling in the Canary Islands' nature” addresses the possible effects that it can cause in the natural environment, the good practices to avoid or minimize them and the regulatory standards related to the activity or the territory where it is carried out, among other aspects.
The document aims to be an information and consultation tool aimed at people who practice cycling in nature, at public and private entities that promote or manage cycling activities and sports events, as well as at the general public. In its preparation, the collaboration of the environmental areas of the island councils, with the group of Environmental Agents of the Canary Islands, as well as with other entities linked to cycling has been counted on. The manual has been configured as a dynamic document, open to future updates.
