Lichens. They are unique protagonists of the inhospitable volcanic surface where they live, facing the influence of the trade winds.
Volcanic cones. The most emblematic ones are: Timanfaya Mountain, Rajada Mountain, Corazoncillo Caldera, the Nuevo del Fuego or Chinero Volcano and the Calderas Quemadas.
One of the modules of the Lanzarote Geodynamic Laboratory is located within the Park.
The tourist facilities designed by César Manrique are a pleasure for the visitor's retina.
The vestiges of the past are still visible today with temperatures reaching 100-120ºC at ground level.
Tips and safety
Transiting through the Park implies respect for peace and the conservation of the environment. Therefore, it is important not to disturb the animals, and it is also forbidden to uproot, collect or extract plants and minerals, as well as alter any other natural element.
As far as possible, we would appreciate it if you would return your waste to populated areas, limiting the use of waste bins, and never leave or throw it outside the designated areas.
Likewise, vehicles cannot circulate outside the paved areas open to the public. And it is not possible to walk on lava or pyroclastic material.
We appreciate that we all contribute to preserving this unique environment.
