May 30: Canary Islands Day

On Canary Islands Day we celebrate the anniversary of the first session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands. This session took place on May 30, 1983, ten months after the publication of the Statute of Autonomy in the Official State Gazette.

On this special day for the Canarians and for all those who live on the islands or visit us, we try to highlight all those traditions and customs that identify us as a unique, simple, humble people of hard-working and welcoming people...

Therefore, in the celebrations that take place we want to highlight the Popular Canarian Culture in all its expressions; agricultural, livestock, festive, gastronomic, musical, sporting, etc...
